Founded in 1932, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 143 exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaire's. Although SAL has it's own membership, the organization is not a separate entity, rather it is assigned to and a part of the American Legion Post 143. SAL is permitted flexibility in planning programs and activities to meet it's needs but the SAL also partners with Post 143 to assist in their programs that preserve American traditions and values, help improve the quality of life of veterans and their families.
Membership Eligibility
All male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of the American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who served in the Armed Forces of the United States since 7 December, 1941, and is still living or deceased, and were honorably discharged from such service, shall be eligible for membership in the Sons Of the American Legion Squadron 143.
